Workroom tools #2... The Ultimate Sewing Machine!

The heart of every workroom is definitely the kettle, after that it's the sewing machine. Every workroom has it's favourite machine, a particular character that everyone loves to use. In our case it is the awesome Brother DD7100. Simply put the world's finest industrial sewing machine. If you have read our blog and seen our website you know by now that we skimp NOWHERE, sewing machines are no different. The Brother is without a doubt the best machine in it's class. We have owned it for over 8 years, used it everyday and it has given us ZERO headaches!

The Brother DD7100 is chock full of amazing time saving money making features. Firstly the machine has a DC motor built right into the head. That means it is a direct drive, there is no clutch, no motor under the table, pure instant power at the push of the pedal. The machine is totally silent, unlike other Industrial sewing machines, the DD7100 is only on when the pedal is depressed, this saves power and noise. Having the motor in the head allows for more power and ZERO belt slippage, and minimal vibration and wear.

The Integrated Control Panel allows you to control stitch speed, tack length, programmed stitching, needle position and single and half stitch sewing capability. The Brother can sew anywhere from 1200 stitches per minute to an astonishing 5000 stitches per minute. The machine also has an auto back tack and auto thread trimmer feature which has saved countless hours of thread trimming and hundreds of yards of thread!

Machine accessories are extremely important, each different attachment serves it's own function and enables you to perfectly sew any particular seam, piping, topstitching etc.
We have several dozen feet for every machine making sure every stitch is perfect no matter the application.

Here you can see Anna is in complete awe of the Brother DD... she is entirely stupefied at it's sheer awesomeness. She is frequently in a  comatose state of machine worship. Who can blame her.
