Upholstery Project.

The custom nature of our work often takes us to interesting and spectacular homes. In this instance we were commissioned to design, fabricate and install some upholstered seating in a modern home in West Vancouver. 

Our client had built this home and in the eating area off the kitchen there was a banquet requiring upholstery. Sadly however the design of the banquet seating was conceptualized without little consideration for the soft upholstery. After all, it is almost always an afterthought. It is astounding how much of our time is spent trying to figure out how to engineer solutions to work with existing architecture rather than working with people to engineer solutions that work from the beginning. I know this is a huge challenge with window coverings in almost every home, it is sad but even in the most beautiful homes window coverings are and often look like an afterthought. Nevertheless, here we managed to design and fabricate seating that worked very well with the existing architecture. Upholstered seating in this banquet area was fabricated in a recycled leather product.
