Sleepy Time

Colourful pillows in different sizes and textures on a metallic linen pleated
bed overlay....

Nothing in the home is as important as a bed, in my opinion. Comfort while sleeping is nourishment for the soul, good bedding makes that quiet journey into our subconscious so much more enjoyable. I feel that bedrooms should be a sensorial experience. Softness and texture are important, lighting, quiet...

Currently we are designing 7 totally different bedrooms. Elements within them are all similar, as in they have beds, pillows, colours etc. They range from very traditional luxury, modern  to Japanese zen, but aesthetics are actually secondary for me, my primary concern is how well my client is going to sleep in their deliciously decorated new bedroom. From the correct choices of bedlinen, to the particular fills of the duvets and pillows to mattresses and padding we try to create a sleep experience for our client that improves not only their sleep quality but improves their time awake as well. Beds are a place where we spend a great deal of time doing a number of different things and usually all entail some degree of intimacy either alone or with others. ;)
Colour and texture. The raw unprocessed linen offers a quiet backdrop
to the lustre of the silk and slick wood surface of the headboard.

Slitted bed overlay allows the vibrant coral sheeting to peek through adding
an added dimension and texture to the bed surface.
