Lutron Motorized Ripplefold

Ravi Design offers motorization systems for all window coverings applications, be it shading or drapery. Today's options for motorized window coverings are greater than ever. Integration of window coverings, motorization and home automation is becoming more and more mainstream as the technology is refined. There are a vast array of systems available and a large range of options out there to choose from, to fit almost any budget. Control options vary from remote control to wall switches to apps on today's smartphones. It can be overwhelming and that is why it is so important to engage the services of people who understand and are capable of making everything work flawlessly, as it is designed to.

Ironically, despite the technological advances in home automation and window covering hardware, the large majority of curtains we see throughout the city rarely exhibit a commiserate level of innovation, in either fabrication or design. We on the other hand consider the curtain and the hardware (be it motorized or manual) equally important and see all steps  from the design and function, through to fabrication and installation are considered and executed with precision to ensure perfectly functioning drapery and relevant to the architecture and style of the home.

Currently we are working in a home in Vancouver where we have installed a Lutron Ripplefold  system to integrate with the home's Lutron Homeworks system. Lutron is a class leader in home automation and their drapery and shading systems are favoured for being the highest quality and consistently provide problem free operation. For this installation we opted for a custom ripplefold, where we custom made the curtains but also customized Lutron's hardware to give us 25% smaller stacks while actually increasing the fullness of the drapery! True customization!
A work in progress....

Dining room... when's dinner?

And this picture pretty much says it all. These curtains were 125.25" long. the curtain fabric was 126" wide. Having railroaded the fabric there was no room for error, the curtains hover magically off the ground a scant .25". This picture to me epitomizes luxury and high quality. It shows me that the curtain is made to an impossibly high standard and that there was no room for error. To anyone else it's just a curtain hem.

  1. these are beautiful and that is an interesting hem. It would be nice to see it even closer. How was that stitched?

  2. Hi Kathy,
The hem on these curtains is a weighted chain, it is attached to the material using specialized equipment and is done at the factory in the manufacturing stage!
