Vancouver is losing it's marbles

I don't normally allow myself the space to vent on my blog, it being for business and all but our governments decision to pass legislation to fine teachers $475 a day for going on strike is just unbelievable. Who would even be able to conceive such an idea? This is one of the most ridiculous pieces of legislature I have ever heard of and I think that we as people need to involve ourselves  more in the workings of our government. I am appalled at how our current and past city and provincial government have conducted themselves and subjected the citizens of this city and province to ridiculous increases in taxes and service fees while at the same time cutting services! Who cares if this is a beautiful city to live in, I will be the first one to leave if my children can't receive a good education. Do I really want to live in a society where even basic education is a privilege of the wealthy? Is this how far we have come?

What are we all trying to achieve here? What kind of a society do we want to raise our young? We are reminded everyday in the news at the desperation and ignorance in other parts of the world, why do we too have to stoop to that level as well ? Can we not find ways as intelligent people to rise above this?

Vancouver, you are like a beautiful, glass like woman at the bar, every one is looking at you, everyone wants to spend time with you, but little do they know how fragile you are inside... You can only keep the facade up for so long before it starts to crumble...

Sad day.
