A Most Challenging Install.

Rarely has a project engaged all three facets of our business so completely. From the design, manufacture and all the way to installation, this project drew on all our collective experience for a successful outcome. The penthouse over looking False Creek and Granville Island had some of the most challenging skylights I have ever seen, a large bank of 9 curved skylights made up the entire South Wall and extended to just over 22 feet in height.
I selected a coarse linen like synthetic fabric for the shades. The coarse open weave offered amazing texture, light filter and still allowed the light to filter through beautifully. I opted for a hobbled style as they look great on vertical planes and even better on horizontal planes, as you will see. The shades were hung using specially curved tracks  installed in each skylight frame. In effect the shades were suspended from the tracks, very complex.... enjoy.

Steaming Shades may seem like fun.... Anita may beg to differ.

Hanging Shades and Tracking.... I make it all look so easy! It wasn't!
