My clients are always finding new and novel challenges for me to fill the void which is my life. In this instance I was asked to come up with some personalized pillows for two young boys, for their beds. For this I picked a very stable wool felt. Felt has been a popular material for soft furnishings for decades. It's soft hand, architectural stability and durability make it a natural choice for many applications. The colour range available makes it an extremely attractive option. But it's not cheap, at over $120 / yard you best know what you want to do with this stuff... NO wastage!
I first bonded a press on glue to the back of the felt before placing my lettering and cutting it out. I cut out the lettering and heat bonded the letters to the cushions... se below...
